A somewhat milder day greeted NRC members this late winter morning, low cloud and drizzle were however, threatening to make it an uncomfortable morning, but by the time we were organised and ready to go, at least the drizzle had stopped..

Present were Jim and Keo - Gary, Sam and Freya - Tony and his male Harris , and John  and Poppy.

A plan was worked out and agreed, and the band of five members with four Harris Hawks, three male, one female ( lucky guy! ) made a start in a close by wood.

Before long, quarry was flushed and some spectacular flights took place, the birds all being up for the challenge...but no kill was made, and the band moved on.

Several woods were covered, all producing flights, but still, by early afternoon, the birds had come up empty despite hitting in on several quarry.

Finally, Jim Harrower's bird, Keo, accompanied by Freya, Gary Wilson's bird, both hit in hard on a kill, and the bag was no longer empty.

The group headed into a large wood, but not much was happening, and so a route was devised from our location, and we headed back to the vehicles..a couple more flushes were made en route, but all were unsuccessful.

None the less, as always, the sport was good, the flights were spectacular, and the group were well happy with that.
