A misty, foggy morning was the setting as NRC ventured out into the countryside with four Harris Hawks for a day's hunting. Once all the hawks were unboxed and ready, the group headed over to the first warren to be ferreted, a task kindly undertaken by Glynne and Dennis, but no rabbits were put up, and so we moved further out into the fields.

The ferrets were again put down, and although a couple of rabbits were put up, they made cover before the hawks could give chase, and again, the group moved further into fields toward a riverbank.

By now, the sun was breaking through and burning the mist away, giving way to a beautiful autumn day.

There were many warrens and holes along the way, and all were ferreted, with some success. Mick Smith's hawk Buddy caught a bolting rabbit in good style.

the holes by the riverbank were ferreted, with several rabbit's being bolted, but the bag stayed at one for the day.
